Loss of last surviving founding member:
Charles D Sparks, the last living founding member of the Salem County Sportsmen's Club passed away Saturday morning, March 22nd. Charles was one of a handful of men that had the vision, foresight and determination to create and build the wonderful organization that we members have the priviege to enjoy today.  Charlie was very active in the club since it's inception in 1947, serving on the board of directors 13 years and as Board President for 4 years.  Charlie continued to stay involved in the club throughout his retirement attending meetings, providing advise, historical information, attending the shrimp and crab dinners, and the Happy Hours when he wasn't in Florida.  Charlie's wisdom, experience, smile and his orations at Regular meetings will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
 

Archery and Turkey Shoots
The club holds monthly archery shoots.  Come on out and test your marksmenship.  Call the club office for the date and time of the next shoot.

Chilli Cook Off:              A Chilli Cook Off will be held at the club on Friday, October 3rd at 7:00pm.  Call the club office at (856) 299-5588 to register.  There is a $5.00 entry fee per entrant.  Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st place - 50% of entry fee,  2nd place - 30% of entry fee,   3rd place  - 20% of entry fee.   Come on out and enter your special recipe or come out and sample the offerings.  Call Jack Smith at 856-297-2572 for more information.
